Fairy tales and fables have always been one of my favorite reads, although, to tell the truth, I still have more books that I still have to read than I have read. However, they have always had my attention, because they are an ancient form of storytelling that hides many secrets. What does reading fairy tales and fables mean to me? Beyond, as usual, technical and academic explanations that are beyond my scope, I list what reading fairy tales and fables represents for me. Entering an imaginary world : I believe this is one of the main "aesthetic" elements of these narratives. The creation of a world different from ours, where everything is possible. But that's not always the case. Adventure : There is always adventure in stories like this. There are problems to solve, situations to reverse.
Moral : although not in all, fairy tales and fables hide a moral, latent or otherwise. Perhaps they really should be written starting from a moral. Relaxation : reading fairy tales and fables relaxes me. In fact, I believe that it should become a periodic reading, to be alternated with more serious readings. Culture : reading fairy tales and fables introduces us to a people and their traditions, folklore and their historical background. Anything but reading for children. Fairy tales and fables are the identity of a country. They are the direct voice of its population.
